Within the exhibition, paintings, photographs, sculptures, drawings, and video installations appear as traces of a body of work created outdoors, shaped by the environment itself through direct contact with the land, the climate, and the passage of time. Produced in the Yampa River Valley and in the Rocky Mountains, the works on view reveal an approach in which nature becomes, in turn, studio, raw material, and creative force. The catalogue documents this singular artistic process, grounded in the artist’s withdrawal and an active collaboration with nature and its unpredictability.

Nothing Without Nature thus invites a renewed way of observing the natural world, one that is attentive to the history and the living presence of places, and that opens up new forms of contemplation.
