The exhibition "Decoding Korea" at the Grand Palais Immersif traces the modern history of Korea through the prism of ten artists - Jung Yeondoo, Kang Yiyun, Kim Heecheon, Kwon Hayoun, Lee Yongbaek, Lee Lee Nam, Park Junebum, Ram Han, Roomtone, and Yeom Ji Hye - and highlights the country's social dynamics, resilience and mutations from post-war hardship to major international expansion. Bringing together the latest generations of Korean artists, born between the late 60s and the early 90s, the exhibition reflects the leading role Korea now plays on the international scene, while reassessing the current cultural currents behind the evolution of national values and identity. Like a journey through the country's history, from its past, present, and future, with so many moments that have shaped its identity, with imaginary, collective landscapes animated or reinvented through the most advanced technological media, the works explore one by one the changing face of Korea and its emergence today as a cultural and economic power.

"With cutting-edge, immersive technological works that activate the senses, the exhibition unpacks Korea’s history bit by bit, a still expanding nation where the world of tomorrow is being written in real-time, and imagines new landscapes, scenarios for future generations. Decoded." - Jérôme Sans
