As co-artistic director of the 2006 ‘Nuit Blanche’ event with Nicolas Bourriaud, Jérôme Sans conducted the 5th edition of the infamous annual Parisian manifestation. He offered a generous vision of contemporary art, and established a crossroad and melting pot where diverse cultures could come together and integrate. The event was held in neighborhoods that had little to none cultural exposure (la Goutte d’Or, Tolbiac, Beaugrenelle, Carpentier…)
A densely artistic wave hits urban lifestyle. In just one night, these neighborhoods transform into an epicenter for creative art demonstrations, able to touch upon reality, through interaction and discussion. This free manifestation, that aspires to be the reflection of contemporary and international creation, has been transformed by the artistic direction into an established worldwide event where art becomes accessible to all and sparks a legitimate dialogue with the public.
