Bally X Wang Yuyangs
Shanghai
Demountable house, 2015
The final stage of a year-long evolving exhibition that celebrates modernity, functionality and innovation through the work of Pierre Jeanneret, Jean Prouvé and friends, inventors of modernist architecture and design. For the occasion of the Prouvé/Jeanneret house’s first time ever exhibition in China, Bally has invited internationally-renowned curator Jérôme Sans to select a Chinese artist and commission a site-specific art work. Wang Yuyang has created a new sculpture piece, entitled ‘Equip’ in dialogue with the aesthetics and philosophy of Prouvé’s and Jeanneret’s modernist designs.
