LagoAlgo présente son cinquième chapitre d'expositions, intitulé Heat, qui prend pour sujet la combustion et ses multiples significations et implications - qu'elles soient écologiques, sociales ou politiques. S'intéressant aux forces de la nature qui échappent à notre contrôle, ce cycle d'expositions se concentre sur les catastrophes causées par l'homme, abordant l'immédiateté du changement climatique et la menace des explosions nucléaires, et amplifiant les messages et les voix urgents. Ferventes, urgentes, comme sur le point de s'embraser, quatre expositions distinctes sont réunies pour créer un cercle de feu brûlant, rassemblant une constellation inattendue d'artistes internationaux réunis pour la première fois : Le Suisse français Julian Charrière, l'Américaine d'origine russe Ebecho Muslimova, l'Espagnole Ana Montiel et le Mexicain Pedro Reyes.
Chaque exposition de ce chapitre fait écho à l'un des quatre grands types de combustion : lente, rapide, spontanée et explosive. Du vertige à la contemplation, l'exposition de Julian Charrière aborde les dangers pressants d'une combustion rapide due au changement climatique, en explorant notamment le délire de l'industrialisation et sa collusion avec les ressources non renouvelables. Ebecho Muslimova et son personnage féminin burlesque Fatebe s'emparent des murs de LagoAlgo, faisant exploser son architecture, avec des murs qui peuvent à peine contenir sa présence, comme une combustion féminine spontanée. Dans un esprit de protestation explosive et d'indignation, le projet Artist Against the Bomb de Pedro Reyes rassemble des centaines d'affiches conçues par des artistes, à la fois historiques et nouvellement commandées, qui appellent au désarmement nucléaire universel afin de générer un changement impératif et urgent et de parvenir à la paix. Parallèlement, les masses vibrantes d'Ana Montiel réalisent une sorte de synesthésie, peignant avec de l'air les facteurs souvent négligés. À la manière d'une combustion lente, émanant comme une chaleur sans flamme, elle réconcilie le liminal et le tangible, l'éternel et l'éphémère, le monumental et le microscopique, le naturel et le culturel.
