Co-directeur artistique de la Nuit Blanche 2006 avec Nicolas Bourriaud, Jérôme Sans a dirigé la 5ème édition de la fameuse manifestation annuelle parisienne. Il a offert une vision généreuse de l'art contemporain et a créé un carrefour et un creuset où diverses cultures pouvaient se rencontrer et s'intégrer. Cet événement s’est déroulé dans des quartiers peu ou pas exposés à la culture (la Goutte d'Or, Tolbiac, Beaugrenelle, Carpentier...).
Une vague artistique dense bouscule la vie urbaine. En une seule nuit, ces quartiers se transforment en centres de manifestations artistiques créatives, capables de toucher la réalité, par l'interaction et la discussion. Cette manifestation gratuite, qui aspire à être le reflet de la création contemporaine et internationale, a été transformée par la direction artistique en un événement mondial établi où l'art devient accessible à tous et suscite un dialogue légitime avec le public..
