Yu Hong est l'une des femmes artistes les plus célèbres de Chine. L'exposition qu'elle présente au Long Museum consiste en un vaste panorama de son œuvre intitulée "Le monde de Saha", une expression bouddhiste qui revêt une grande importance dans la réflexion personnelle de Yu Hong et qui signifie "le monde à supporter", le monde qui est le nôtre.
Plus qu'une rétrospective, cette exposition est envisagée comme une "introspective" de son vocabulaire unique et étendu. Yu Hong est principalement connue pour plusieurs séries de peintures qu'elle a développées depuis le début de sa pratique artistique, et cette exposition retrace son évolution vers de nouveaux domaines qui englobent sa réflexion picturale à travers de nouvelles approches. L'exposition déploie son univers comme un opéra visuel développé ici en quatre actes différents, révélant plusieurs univers parallèles qui se subdivisent en périodes distinctes : "Time of Rebirth", son engagement de toujours dans une série de "Portraits", "Half-Hundred Mirrors" et "Witness to Growth".
L'inspiration créatrice de Yu Hong est connue pour être ancrée dans sa vie personnelle et son environnement quotidien, construisant un monde qui fusionne ingénieusement différentes perceptions du temps, des souvenirs et de l'évolution des états émotionnels liés à son monde intérieur. Elle explore les mutations de la vie quotidienne des femmes dans les débats sociaux, politiques et culturels changeants de la Chine.
